Setup
How to set up the Webhooks integration

Create a webhook
In your Simple Commenter dashboard, go to Project Settings > Integrations, click Webhook, then click New Webhook.

Configure the endpoint
Give it a name, choose the trigger event (New Comment, Reply, or Status/Priority Update), and enter your endpoint URL. You can create separate webhooks for each event type.

Add authentication
Optionally protect your endpoint with a Bearer Token or Basic Auth. The credentials are sent in the Authorization header on every request, with X-Webhook-Token and X-Webhook-Auth fallbacks for endpoints that strip it.

Enable and save
Turn the webhook on with the toggle and click Save. Your endpoint must accept POST or PUT requests with JSON, return a 2xx status code, and be publicly accessible.

Set up two-way sync
Optionally, in the Inbound Actions section, choose which actions external systems can perform (reply to comments, update status/priority, delete comments), then click Generate Token and copy it immediately since it won't be shown again.

Every outbound webhook delivers a JSON payload with a type field that tells your endpoint which event fired, plus a direct link back to the comment.
